However, in the past few years, the output business in engineering and manufacture industry has suffered a lot because of the misunderstanding of those ―imported‖ standards that are poorly translated. According to the Standardization Law of People’s Republic of China, it is explicitly stipulated that ―the adoption of international standard is encouraged when it comes to foreign business‖. Therefore, a proper interpretation and paraphrase of the industrial standard is of extreme significance for the smooth going of foreign business. The translation material is named BS EN 12828:2012: Heating Systems in Buildings Design for Water-based Heating Systems, published by the British Standard Institution (BSI). It is the UK implementation of EN 12828:2012, which is prepared by Technical Committee of The European Committee for Standardization (CEN) and applied by 32 other countries in Europe. In analyzing this translation text from both the lexical level and syntax level, the Translation theory of Newmark’s is adopted as the principal theoretic basis.
