Abstract
Benzene, toluene, ethyl benzene and xylene [BTEX] in new houses, vehicles and in atmosphere are of special concern due to their carcinogenic impact. But in the atmospheric environment, most of the benzene and its analogies come from the vehicle exhaust; therefore the emissions of benzene and its analogies from traffic exhaust should be worth to studying.
Based on a wide reading and detailed study of relevant references, this thesis at first summarizes the current research, existent problems and developmental direction of non-conventional emission examination and BTEX’s emissions from diesel engine. Through detailed analysis the burning mechanism of n-heptane as well as the production mechanism of benzene, the author has built a new the diesel oil oxidation chemical kinetics mechanism. The chemical kinetics mechanism include the key reaction of n-heptane decomposes, small molecular hydrocarbon compound polymerization and oxidizing reaction and pollutant forms with oxidizing reaction. The diesel oil oxidation chemical kinetics mechanism which takes Dr. Golovichev V proposed as the foundation, selects small molecular hydrocarbon fuel compound to aromatic hydrocarbon, and increased the key reaction which the n-heptane decomposes. The calculated results show that this chemical kinetics model is valid in simulating engine operations in a wide range of initial conditions. This chemical kinetics model also can reflect the production and the consumption rule of benzene, toluene and ethyl benzene. Using Chemkin to compute this reaction mechanism has obtained the concentration curve of benzene, toluene and ethyl benzene in cylinder. The influence of the computed result was also investigated with the change of model initial parameter.
