Abstra Abstract Title: City Small Bus Modeling Design Research Major: Art Theory Student: Huan Rao Signature: Supervisor: A.Prof. Yi Wang Signature: Abstract With the preliminary establishment and gradual improvement of the large cities’ rail traffic facilities, the design and structure of urban public transportation mood is also changing accordingly. After several years of large-scale developing , city bus has entered a new stage of differentiation development step by step. In order to make up for the big disadvantage of large track traffic in the urban public transportation, the miniaturization of the community bus attract people’s attention. This paper focuses on this special segments. Through conducted extensive market research from different angles, know about existing shortage of the product of this market segment. And through learning of the coach manufacturing processes and its structures, analyze the existing modeling functional design problems of city bus, such as the inadequate functional design of the analysis of the door, stepping secondary level, blind area of the front panel, interior general arrangement design, handrail design and so on, and put forward a series of improvement design ideas. Based on the above research, the low front panel design can solve the problem of the blind spots around the front to some extent. Meanwhile, large-sized outside door and low floor technology can not only greatly facilitate the passengers to get on and off the bus but also broaden the interior space. The main contents of this paper are as follows: (1) The research combined questionnaire and interview methods, investigated bus company, bus drivers, ordinary passengers as well as special passengers and also made statistical analysis, then put forward the concept of the small city bus design.
