Design and Research on City Mobile Police Guard Posts Specialty: Industrial Design Engineering Name: Guo Zhi_jun Instructor: Professor Zhao Feng Abstract In recent years, mobile police guard posts sprung up in many major cities. As far as the existing mobile police posts in Xi’an are concerned, the author thinks that there are three problems existing universally: (1) the interior office space is small; (2) the space utilization ratio is low; (3) office facilities are so easy with only a single function that the stuff can suffer from physiological fatigue easily. Therefore, taking these problems as a starting point, the thesis proceeds comprehensive research and design, under the guidance of the Design Science and on the basis of the survey about the user groups (the civilian police on duty). On the strength of the research about mobile police posts, the thesis thinks up some new viewpoints: (1) Theoretical frame: The theory of Design Science are first applied to the design and research of city mobile police posts and it’s also for the first time that “the guiding framework of the design of city mobile police posts” is built up according to the classification in psychological and physiologic level. (2) Methods: On the basis of the design survey, research and analysis directed by Design Science, the thesis builds a standardized processes which proves to be in the reasonable order with a mutual strong association between any two steps. The specific steps are getting the user’s guide at first, then forming the functional orientation and the office space configuration of the mobile police posts, building up the “the guiding framework of the design of city mobile police posts”, and finally completing the design practice with the assistance of basic knowledge of Office Space Design.
