Abstract In the period of the rapid development, our modern city has undergone the transformation from the agricultural society to modern urban one and from the agricultural culture to modern urban culture. The creation of the painting subject on the city is emerging, which has the large development space. Against the creation background of the city where the writer is living, he finds out the color brightness caused by the fast pace in the city life and the delicacy from the matters and the surroundings in the modern society life in the process of the creation exploration. Furthermore, the expression force from the American impressionism for the city life and the accurate expression from the late classical academism for the form painting has influenced and enlightened the writer who devotes himself to exploring the way that combined together and making painting creation on the city subject by using the concrete picture language and the individual art view and styles from the perspective of space and picture composition, and painting our life so as to reflect our era and the inspiration for the essence of the urban spirit.
