Abstract Since the 1980s, China began a process of population aging，our country has become the worlds most populous and fastest-growing countries of the aging population. With single child entering middle age, the proliferation of empty nest families has become an inevitable reality. Empty nest families have been the main model of the family in the 21st century Chinese society, empty nest elderlies are the focus of the population economic and social welfare among the nationwide people. Compared to the developed countries ,our country’s empty nest elderlies’ long-term care system is still weak in cities and towns, the social old-age related public facilities and community services still lag behind the rate of aging. In this paper, the model of supporting to the empty nest elderlies is discussed, a variety of reasons of the appearance of the empty nest families are analyze .By the survey of the living conditions of most empty nest elderlies incities and towns, aiming to discover problems from multiple angles ,then by analysis and comparison of different models, specific recommendations will be given. Research on the model of supporting to the empty nest elderlies is with a wide range of theoretical significance, it is not only related to the process of modernization and social stability, but also an important parameter to the full realization of a harmonious society. For establishing and improving community care service system, the development of the supporting mode, the development of community services, improvement of the empty nest elderlies’ life quality, this paper provides a theoretical basis, this research also has some practical reference value too.
