II II Abstract Infrastructure is an important manifestation of the overall quality and the comprehensive national strength of the national economy, as well as, it is an important symbol of modernization level. The infrastructure is also an important factor in promoting regional economic growth. Since the reform and opening- up, Gansu province achieved rapid economic growth, the regions GDP grew by 6.473 billion in 1978 to 412.075 billion in 2010, an increase of 65 times, an average annual growth rate of 13.41%. In the process, infrastructure construction has pla yed an important role. We studied the relationship between infrastructure investment and economic growth in Gansu province. It is conducive to relevant departments understand the regional infrastructure construction situation correctly, to find a way to speed up the economic and social development in Gansu province, achieve the goal of Gansu economic prosperity. This paper made a brief overview about the situation of infrastructure in Gansu province, the existing problems and situation of eco nomic development. Having an Co-integration Analysis between Gansu infrastructure investment and economic growth, through testing co-integration coefficient of 0.8929. Beside, Granger causality test found that economic growth promote the construction of infrastructure in the short term, both as a cause and effect relationship in the long term. Then estimated the output elasticity of Gansu infrastructure investment through the establishment of the three elements of the production function model, the result is 0.309. The average contribution rate of infrastructure investment to economic growth is 43.89%. Finally, on the basis of the argument, Putting forward policy recommendations to improve infrastructure construction in Gansu province.
