安徽医科大学硕士学位论文 安徽医科大学硕士学位论文 PAGE PAGE 4 Study on Influencing Factors of Metabolic Syndrome and Quality of Life among the Middle Aged and Elderly People from a Community in Hefei City Abstract Objective To investigate the prevalence rate of metabolic syndrome and its various components, and to determine its influencing factors in the middle aged and elderly people from a community in Hefei city. To evaluate residents’ quality of life and to explore the influence of metabolic syndrome on the middle aged and elderly people’s quality of life. Methods The cluster sampling method was used to select a community in Hefei city. The residents older than 40 years old in the community were included in this study. Participants’ demographic characteristics, health-related behaviors, health status, family medical history, dietary behaviors and dietary intake were obtained. Blood pressure, height, weight, waist circumference were measured. Laboratory measures of fast plasma glucose (FPG), total cholesterol (TC), TG, HDL-C, LDL-C, VLDL-C and serum uric acid were obtained. The whole population was 721, in which 416 persons were male and 305 persons were female. The CDS criteria of MS was used to diagnose the MS patients. Usual dietary intake was assessed by using a semi-quantitative food-frequency questionnaire (FFQ). The residents’ quality of life, which was evaluated by WHOQOL-BREF, was compared MS patients with normal people. The comparison of residents’ the prevalence of MS by gender and age group was searched by using χ2 test. The comparison of residents’ quality of life between MS patient and non-MS patient by gender, age group and educational level was found by using independent-samples t test. The analysis of multivariable logistic was to investigate the influencing factors of metabolic syndrome.
