Abstract Abstract - - II - Abstract Instant messaging is a very popular real-time communication mode with Internet network and other wired and wireless network. At present, many instant messaging systems have adopted the Client/Server mode. Under this mode, the server is undoubledly in a key position and there exist a single point failure. In recent years, P2P technology has promote the further development of instant messaging. Nevertheless, it also brings a series of security problem due to the dynamics and uncertainty of P2P environment. The malicious nodes reduce the overall network system reliability and availability. How to effectively identify the malicious node is particularly important. Therefor, this thesis firstly analyzes the existing P2P network security trust model and then put forward a new modle with recommendation mechanism and punishment mechanism. Meanwhile, Network Address Translation has become a mainstream technology at the phase which is transitional from IPv4 to IPv6. It can map many nodes to one public IP address or the opposite in order to solve the problem of shortage of IP address. It is meaningful to study the traversal of NAT in the instant messaging system. Firstly, the paper introduced the P2P network communication technology, and realized a instant messaging system based on P2P. The main function include: text communications, file transfer, audio / video communication as well as some enhanced user experience functions. Then it analyzed the mechanism of NAT, presented the in-depth study of the P2P communcation traversal of NAT, and decided to use STUN to resolve the problem of P2P communcation. In the file transfer part, introduction P2P network security trust model, to provide the necessary network of malicious nodes tips to help user better access to network services.
