Method Total bilirubin and direct bilirubin of 2631 healthy people in the local was assayed by the automatic biochemistry analyzer and improved diazo method,with contrast analysis with operating rules of reference, Results The referenced limits of total bilirubin and direct bilirubin in Chongqing area 2631 cases of healthy crowd were：total bilirubin 5.05～23.9 μmol/L, direct bilirubin 0～7.72μmol/L..Total bilirubin and direct bilirubin in male serum were both higher than female. Conclusion There was great difference of the serum total bilirubin and direct bilirubin level in healthy crowd of chongqing area and the range of operating rules.
