Get students to master the use of some important daily used expressions, like reading a newspaper, making soup, using the computer and so on. 3. Get students to learn to make a phone call using the target language. 教学内容 1. New words: reading a newspaper, male soup, wash the dishes, go to the movies… 2. Sentence structures: What are you doing? I’m watching TV. It’s kind of boring. Do you want to...? 重点难点 1. To talk about what people are doing with the new expressions fluently 2. To be aware of the present progressive tense (be+v-ing) 学情分析 Students are in their first year of middle school; they have learnt some wh-questions and have mastered some daily used expressions. Warming up---listening to a song what are you doing? 1. T and Ss greet each other. 2. T uses a conversation between her and her niece to introduce a song “what are you doing?”, as well as the topic of this period “I am watching TV”. The lyrics are like this: what are you doing? Im watching TV. Im watching TV. what are you doing? Im cooking. Cooking, cooking, cooking. what are you doing? I‘m eating, eating. En yummy what are you doing? Im washing my hands. 3. Ss listen to this song and sing along with it if possible. Step2. Leading in---free talking(what are you doing) T shows the pictures from the song one by one and asks students “what are you doing?” Ss answer the questions based on the pictures and the song. Step 3. New words presentation and practice. 1. T shows a picture of her sister to introduce the new words “newspaper, make soup…”, like this: T: This is a picture of my sister. What is she doing?
