AbstracIABSTRACT AbstracI ABSTRACT With the development of the large scale integration circuit and micro‘computer, the traditional detection devices(oscillograph etc．)call not analyze and detect the digital system efficiently．The ability of analyzing and solving the problem in the digital field of the digital system makes the logic analyzer applied very extensively as the oscillograph， In this papef，a theory of an embedded logic analyzer named SignalTap which is a second·generation soft IP core is discussed，It can analyze the 109ic of all notes inside the digital system with the system frequency．But it only call be applied纽 several FPGA devices．So．证this paper,the theory of SignalTap is referenced to design a new soft IP COre with the features of FPGAwhich is convenient and flexible to design，fast to verify and easy to change．An instrument based on this soft IP core is designed，which has the function of logic analyzing．During the hardware design of the instrument，a SoC design method based on the platform and design*for-testability is used．At the same time，a top-down design method is applied with the EDA technology which achieve狰core of each part of the device in the Verilog HDL format such as sample circuit，RAM circuit,frequency-generation circuit，triggering circuit，control circuit and SO on，All these circuit modules must be simulated in the register level and after the synthesis．Then these modules are organized regularly to form a top module which is the soft IP in this paper．The instrument needs PC interface software to control the instrument，display the analyzing results and analyzing status．The Object—Oriented Programming is applied to achieve the PC software，which enlarges its abifity of analyzing and calculation， decrease its cost and makes it easy to apply’ The design in this paper is can capture any nodes or pins of a logic-analog mixed system in the system operation frequency．Meanwhile，the instrument in this paper can be used tO be a tool of logic-analog mix
