The thesis tries to let people notice the importance of relationships in cross-cultural communication. So, the thesis talks about the differences of dealing with the relationships between Chinese and western people first, then the thesis analyses the main reasons lead to the differences and the influences to cross-cultural communication. At last, the thesis reminds people what should be noticed in cross-cultural communication due to the differences. I believe after reading the whole thesis people can realize the importance of relationships in cross-cultural communication, and find better ways to keep good relationships. In this way, the thesis gains its ends. Here, I would like to narrate the frame of the thesis in detail. There are four main sections in my thesis: The first section is the introduction. The second section talks about the contrast of dealing with relationships between Chinese and western people. I divide this section into five small parts: In the first part, I refer the relationship between lovers or couples; in the second part, I mention the relationship between parents and children; in the third part, I tell the relationship between friends; in the fourth part, I talk about the relationship between family members, the relationship between teachers and students, and also the relationships between colleagues. Besides, I talk about the differences of dealing with relationships between Chinese and western people in all the four parts. Among the whole section, I maily narrate the first three parts, while I just give a general narration in the fourth part as supplement of the first three parts.
