Part A Let’s talk Let’s learn
Good morning! Ladies and gentlemen, today, it’s my great honor to interpret my lesson and my teaching ideas here.The?lesson?is?taken?from?PEP?English?Grade?Three.?The topic of this unit is family and this?is?the?first?period?of?Part?A.
In my presentation, I will explain how to teach and the reason for doing this from the following parts:
Part?1?The preparations for this lesson
Part 2 The analysis of the lesson
Part?3.?Teaching?procedures and intentions
Part 4 Blackboard design
Part 5 My reflection
Part?1?The preparations for this lesson
Now I will introduce each part one by one.
Firstly the?analysis?of?the?teaching?material: This?lesson?is?a?dialogue which is the first part of this unit, it provides students several core sentences, like “who’s that man/ woman? He’s/ She’s my...”. Thus it plays a very important part in teaching this unit. The general target of this lesson is that students can introduce their families to others in real context.
Secondly the?analysis?of?the?students: The New National English Curriculum Standards stresses that the curriculum should take consideration the learners’ interest, life experience and their cognitive level. It advocates an interactive learning style in which experiencing, practicing, participating, communicating and cooperating are promoted. Students in Grade 3 are active and vigorous, their are keen to learn. But they are lack of self-control, thus the teaching must be very interesting and the content must be very helpful.
Thirdly the?analysis?of?the teaching?theories: thanks to the New National English Curriculum Standards, it enlightens me a lot in designing and arranging the teaching steps:
1 Students are put at the centre of the curriculum and individual differences are respected.
2 Activity-based methods, experiential and participatory learning are advocated.
3 The formative assessment plays a very important role in promoting students’ learning.
