Key Laboratory ofCoast CivilStructure Safety ( T ianjin University), M inistry of Education, T ianjin 300072, China) Abs tract: Based on the cyclic loading tests on six crossshaped column interior jointsw ith a reduced scale of 1/2, the destructive progress and characteristics, hysteresis property, d isplacement ductility, rigid ity degradation, bear ing capacity and energy dissipation are compared in this paper to research the fiber reinforcement for the seism ic be havior of the interior joints in crossshaped column. It is show n in the test results that: using steel fiber reinforced concrete in the core area of the joint could sign ificantly prevent the spalling of concrete, mi prove ductility and bear ing capacity, slow dow n the stiffness degradation.
