Abstract: Consider ing limited ava ilability of cultiv ated land resources, many develo ping countr ies f ace maj or challeng es to a-
chieve a su st ainable agr icultural development and food secur ity . T he pur po se w as to study the co nstr aints of land r esources in
developing co untr ies and reg io ns . It w as analy zed that the per capita ar able land ar ea of agr icultural populatio n had been
changed in develo ping co untr ies fro m 1993 to 2002 . T he result show ed that t he per capita arable land area of agr icultural popula-
t ion decreased so rapidly and severely that
