In terms of study perspective, Elias examined the functional value of sport, the origin of sport and the core evolution of modern sports systems from the perspective of process; in terms of study method, Alias guided the study of sport sociology by using open and dynamic comparative methods. Alias has enlightened a number of western scholars on making a study of sport sociology by applying process sociology.
