The pathologic examination finds that the epidermis of mucous membrane on the ureters in the three-day group and the seven-day group has fallen off, and the lymphoid leucocytes shows obvious infiltration, accompanied by infiltration of a small amount of neutrophilic granulocyte, edema and partial mesenchymal bleeding; no evident falling-off is seen in the mucous membrane on the ureters in the other two groups, and there is a small amount of lymphoid leucocytes showing infiltration, but no evident edema and bleeding; the pathology of new follicle-like substances growing at the ureteral orifice in bladder indicates that, the lymphoid leucocytes are infiltrated and the number of cell layers increases, which is a sign that there is chronic inflammation. Conclusion: 1. The ureter can be expanded by retaining the double-J tube in the ureter for only three days; 2. The ureteral edema disappears after the double-J tube is retained for ten days, with slight inflammatory reaction; 3. It is appropriate to retain the double-J tube for 10-14 days before the staged operation with flexible ureterorenoscope.
