A bstrac t: Based on the mechan ica l properties and fa tigue tests of 12 kinds o f alum inum a lloys, the pred ic tab ility o f the ex isting
5 estmi a tion m ethods for the fatigue param eters w as ana ly zed. It is d iscovered that the four-po int correlation m ethod and mod if ied
four-po int correlation me thod can be u sed to eva luate the fatigue lives of a lum inum a lloys in the low and or interm ediate cycle fa-
tigue life reg mi e. But none of the m ethods can be used to predict the fa tigue life in the high cyc le fa tigue life reg mi e. Besides,
the hardness me thod prov ides the w orst estmi a tion resu lts.
