华中科技大学硕士学位论文 华 中 科 技 大 学 硕 士 学 位 论 文 II II ABSTRACT The disk array controller as the core component of the RAID(Redundant Array of Independent Disks) system, it’s performance has become the critical factor which determines the performance of the whole system.At the same time, the storage system’s single point of failure has begun to transfer to the controller. Controller redundancy mechanism guarantee that the system doesn’t go down and can still provide continuous service in the condition that when one single controller fails. However, it merely provides a single point of failure to avoid the application of. Now there is higher requirement for data security, especially in certain sectors need to provide 7*24 uninterrupted service. The system should also ensure that the reliability of the data storage side. The dual controller RAID system based on DRBD(Distributed Replicated Block Device) is a double solution, it can provide network storage service based on iSCSI(Internet Small Computer System Interface).Through the logical volume management, the system achieves the device- level storage virtualization, make the management of the disk device more flexible. Redundancy mechanism both on the controller and the date which is used by DRBD that provides the function of mirror make the system avoiding the failure from both of the two sides, and this improves the availability. Through dividing the storage devices into two kinds, ordinary volume and high available volume, the system can provide two different level service according to the requirement. The management system is a B/S architecture, including the front Web management interface and the background daemon. We implementation the visual management of dual-controller, and achieved timely and effective monitoring and recovery. The test results show that the system has reached the design requirements.
