Abstr Abstract Abstr Abstract - - PAGE VI - - - III - Abstract There are important status in the national economy of construction, and its large scale activities of investment in fixed assets provides the material basis for the development of the national economy and the improvement of peoples life, and it is the compulsory step of fixing assets into the reality of production ability and the use value in a lot of industries, which directly affects the growth of the national economy and social labor employment, directly relates the lives and property of social public of safety and production, the quality of life. In recent years, the construction efficiency has significantly improved by introducing the improved mechanical equipment, adopting the advanced construction technology and management methods, but compared with other domestic industry in our country and foreign construction, the construction efficiency is not high in our country, and there are significant differences of efficiency between provincial construction industry in our country, and the more developed areas in construction distributed in the eastern coastal areas. Therefore, how to improve the efficiency of construction industry in our country is a question which is important of research significance. This paper chooses the efficiency of construction industry in northeast China as the research object, establishes the evaluation index system, uses DEA method to calculate the northeast three provinces during the period from 2005 to 2011 to evaluate construction efficiency. After raising questions, this paper explicits purposes and significance of research, analyses and summarizes the existing related research, and on this basis combines with the characteristics of construction industry in northeast China to determine the research methods and research contents of the paper.
