This part enables the students to describe the weather in different places and greet each other with a new structure. The ability of listening and speaking will be well developed.

A new way of greeting and asking about the weather is quiet a common greeting in western countries.

Step1. Lead-in
Ask the Ss randomly: How are you? What’s the date today? S1: It’s...
T: Right. So it’s late spring now. The weather is good/bad today. Look at the sun/clouds/rain/wind!How’s the weather today? It’s sunny/cloudy/rainy/windy.
Step2. Presentation
Show five pictures on the screen. Ss will say some words to describe each picture using whatever words they can.
Show some small icons. Encourage Ss say some words quickly about the weather according to the icons.
Ss will work on 1a. (1)see the theme picture in 1a. (2)match the words with the pictures before class and check the answers in class. (3)show their answers in front class.
Listen to 1b and write these city names in the boxes above in 1a.(1) Pre-listening: Preview five pictures about the landmarks in those places in order to study new words. (2)While-listening: listen carefully and take notes about the unfamiliarity phrases.(3)After-listening: Ss will check answers one by one. Listen again and retell the conversations.
Step3. Practice
1.Students will pay more attention on 1c. Ss can make conversations with their partners to talk about the weather on the phone.
