华中科技大学硕士学位论文 华 中 科 技 大 学 硕 士 学 位 论 文 II II Abstract With the development of the high-density TV and high-density video programs, the traditional optical disc such as DVD can not meet the need of the high-density video programs. Now there are two standards of blue ray disc: HD-DVD and BLU-RAY DISC to satisfy the demands. Nonetheless the blue ray solutions are complicated, and expensive because the patents which are all owned by big companies. Next Generation Versatile Disc (NVD) which proposes a new data format and error correction code with independent intellectual property rights, owns higher coding efficiency than DVD and 12GB capacity which could meet the demands of playing the high-density video programs. The channel decoder plays an important role in the front-end chip. The scheme and algorithm of NVD decoder system implemented by FPGA can be used in the NVD decoder chip?s design. Therefore, the study and implementation of channel decoder of NVD with independent intellectual property rights is of great significance. The advantages and disadvantages of the former project on NVD channel decoding is analyzed, basing on the brief introduction of the decoding channel and the former decoding system of NVD implemented by hardware.Combinded with the embedded system portable feature of the SoPC system, implemented all the decoding module by FPGA, and construct to a SoPC decoding system based on NIOS, thus overcome the defects of the instability and inextensibility. The system design idea and process of designing are specified. Demodulator and logic of synchronous code detector are implemented by FPGA, which focus on the RLL code and synchronous code. Tests of processing speed and the performance of synchronous code detection logic are carried out with the NVD decoder on the NVD experiment environment. The results suggest that the NVD decoder based on NIOS SoPC can do decoding correctly and fast with reliable performance, can use into the test and research for NVD. Key w
