Ⅰ. Analysis of teaching contents:
本单元主要是让学生学习我们常见动物的名称和学习用一些简单的形容词来描述动物,学会运用what, why, where引导的问句来表达个人对动物的喜好,了解动物的外形、生活习性及主要产地,并能运用英语简单地描述自己喜欢的动物,培养和激发学生热爱动物、保护动物和维护生态平衡的思想感情。
Ⅱ. Analysis of the students:
学生通过一个多学期的英语学习,他们已具备了初步的语言表达能力,能用所学的语言知识谈论自己的喜好,但是,本单元的词汇量比较大,有些动物农村学生不太了解,班里将近一半的学生听说读写能力比较差,但是绝大部分学生喜欢用英语课件上课。所以我们教师在充分了解学生的基础上因材施教,以防止两极分化现象的出现。
Ⅲ. Teaching aims:
(1) Knowledge goals:
To get Ss to read and use properly the key vocabulary “ cute, friendly, beautiful, lazy , shy, scary ,smart ,small ” and the target language“-What animals do you like?
-I like elephants. -Why? -Because they’re friendly and clever.”
(2) Ability goals:
To train the students’ listening and speaking skills.
(3)Emotional goals:
Some animals are able to work for human. And animals are our friends. We must protect and look after them.
Ⅳ.Teaching important points:
Key vocabulary and Target language above.
Ⅴ.Teaching difficult points:
Get Ss to make clear the differences about friendly and friend
Get Ss to learn to catch the key words and sentences while listening
Ⅵ.Teaching aids:
Some animal pictures.
Computer and CAI
Ⅶ.Teaching methods:
a) Task-based teaching method
b) Watch-and –listen method
c) Pair work method
d) Question-and -answer activity teaching method
Ⅷ.Teaching procedures:
Step1 Revision
(Review the animals learnt by having a competition and asking students questions.)
Teacher: How many animals can you see on the screen? What are they?
Step2 Match the description words with the animals.
Give the students some pictures of animals and ask the students to describe them with the description words learnt.
Step3 Listening
Ask Ss to listen to a conversation between Mary and Tony carefully .The teacher will play the tape twice. For the first time, Ss should circle the description words they hear in 1a. For t
