Unit 9 What does he look like?
Period 1 1a-2c
教学目标:
1. 知识目标:
(1)学习有关描述人物外貌的词汇:tall, short, long, build, heavy, thin, like,
always, medium height, medium build, long hair, short hair, curly hair, straight
hair.
熟练掌握谈论人物外貌的句型,让学生从身高,身材,头发等描述人 物. 如: What does your friend look like? She is of medium build, and she has long hair.
能力目标:帮助学生听的懂有关描述人物外表的信息并对人物外表能做
简单的描述。
情感目标:通过学生之间对外貌特征的描述,加强彼此的沟通,并懂得
关爱家人。
4. 学习策略目标:培养学生积极参于,善于合作的精神。
(三)教学重点与难点:
重点:描述人物外部特征的词汇及基本句型。
难点:如何把本课所学的词汇用在句子中来回答“What does he /she look
like?”这个句型。
. 课前准备:
1. 课前了解和收集喜欢的明星相片。
2. 要求学生带来家人的相片。
3. 将学生分成8 个小组。
三.教学过程:
Step1 warm up.
1. Greeting.
2.Listen to a song: Just the way you are.
T: we can see the girl’s look and the singer’s look. ( Read after me: look . Look
means 外貌)
Lead in. This class we’ll learn how to talk about someone’s look. We’ll learn unit 9 What does he look like? Read together. (Read after me: look like. look like means “外观上像”.)(板书; look like 外观上像; look 外表)
3. T:When we talk about someone’s look, we can talk about height, build and
Hair. 板书: height build hair ) and learn the new words.
4. Show the aims.
Step 2 learning the new words on their own.
Give an example.
T:First I’ll teach you how to talk about height. You should learn from me.
(1). Show some pictures of some stars and say :
No 1 ask:What does he look like? (他长得什么样子?) (板书)
(2) The other students answer: He/She is tall/ of medium height /short.
(3). Read the sentences.
(4). Learn the words.
(5). Try to remember the words.
2. Students learn the words by themselves.
(1)She is thin/ of medium build/ heavy.(Learn the new words : thin/heavy)
(2)She has long /short hair.
She has curly /straight hair.
She has long /short curly hair.
She has long /short straight hair.
(Learn the new words : curly/ straight)
4. Read the all the new words and try to remember them.
Step 3 Check what they have learned.
