Laparoscopic gastrectomy is technically complex and difficult, including seperation of a wide range of tissues, radical dissection of lymph nodes and reconstruction of digestive tract. The complications of laparoscopic gastrectomy are getting more and more attention. This article summarizes the complications of laparoscopic gastrectomy and their prevention and treatment strategies. Occurrence of complications are associated with operative skills and proficiency of surgeon. Full awareness of the reason and management of intraoperative and postoperative complications, improvement of surgical skills and correct surgical procedure may reduce the occurrence of complications in laparoscopic gastrecomy.
