一、教学内容
本课是一节读写课,选取的阅读文章是If I become an athlete, will I behappy? 内容是谈论athlete职业的两面性,涉及的主要语法结构是if引导的条件状语从句。
二、教学目标
1. 知识目标:
(1)掌握词组:professional athlete, make aliving, get injured, give money to charities.
(2)感知并运用语法:if引导的条件状语从句。
2. 技能目标:
(1)培养学生的阅读技巧,如通过关注每段首句快速掌握文章主旨大意的能力,以思维导图的形式分析文章脉络结构的能力等。
(2)通过仿写,培养学生的写作能力,如分段写、运用主题句和衔接词等。
3. 情感目标:
让学生认识到各种职业都有两面性,引导学生树立正确的职业理想。
三、教学重点和难点
1. 培养学生寻找主题句及其支撑信息,概括文章主旨大意的能力。
2. 通过对文章结构与语言特点的分析,提高学生的写作能力。
四、教学过程
(Self-introduction)
Step 1. Lead-in.
1. Let’s watch a soccer game.
通过视频及图片导出本课的话题——athlete,并呈现本课生词:professional athlete,make a living, give money to charities, get injured.
2. 通过询问What other professional athletesdo you know?和Do you want to be an athlete? Why or why not?来激发学生的思维和阅读兴趣。
Step 2. Reading.
1. Skimming.
Look through the passage and underline thetopic sentences.
Usually the first sentence of eachparagraph is the topic sentence, so when we get the main idea of a paragraph,we should pay more attention to its first sentence.
设计意图:引导学生通过skimming的方式,找出文章的主题句,同时渗透阅读策略,提高阅读效率。
2. Scanning.
Para. 1:
For many young people, becoming aprofessional athlete might seem like a dream job.
Reasons: —You will be able to?make a livingdoing something you love.
—If you become?famous, people all overthe world will?know?you.
—Many athletes?give money to?schoolsand charities. This is?a good chance?that many people do not have.
Para. 2:
However, professional athlete canalso have many problems.
Problems: —People will?watch you?all the time.
—People will?follow you?everywhere.
—This can make life?difficult.
Para. 3:
If you play sports for a living,your job will sometimes be very dangerous. ? ? ?
Dangers: —Many athletes?get injured.
If you become rich, you’ll have a?difficulttime?knowing who?your real friends are.
设计意图:引导学生通过scanning的方式,逐段阅读并完成句子,以获取每一段主题句的支撑信息,并渗透语篇结构意识,为后面的写作服务。
