Teaching Materials 新人教版八年Unit7 Will people have robots?
Teaching Content: Section B 2a-2e
The analysis of teaching material:
In this unit, students learn the topic of ‘robot’. They have learned the sentence structure ‘will do’ in certain language environment. This passage is based on what they have learned before. It presents a passage about whether robots may think like human or not in the future. While reading, students can gain some reading strategies. At the same time, the structure of the passage also helps students learn how to use the target language?‘will do’?in their daily life.
The analysis of students:
Students have learned the sentence structure ‘will do sth’, but they also need to learn how to use it in their daily life and gain some reading strategies. Topic robot is their favorite subject so they may have many ideas about it, which is good for today’s learning.
Teaching objectives:
1、Knowledge objective
By the end of the class, students will be able to:
Recognize these key words and expressions like human, snake, factory, help with housework, human servants, fall down, over and over again…and use them to describe their own robots.
2、Ability objective (1) To students will be able to use “will do” and key expressions to describe their own robots.
(2) To students will be able to master the reading strategies---prediction, skimming and scanning.
3、Emotion objective To students will be able to know the importance of science and technology and take pride in their country—China. Then study hard to achieve their dreams.
Teaching Important and Teaching Difficult points:
(1)Students will be able to use the sentence pattern ‘will do’ to express their own ideas.
(2) Students will be able to apply the reading strategies---prediction, skimming and scanning to understand the passage.
