Step Ⅲ New words 1.Show some pictures about different kinds of jobs. Teach the new words. 2. Practice reading them. 3. Brain storm: Students rush to answer what jobs they are before the teacher show the completed pictures 4. Words competition: Divide the class into four groups. They write down as many jobs as they can in two minutes Step Ⅳ Pair work 1. Students rank the jobs in la 1-12 from the most interesting to the least interesting 2. Ask several Students the question: What do you want to be when you grow up? 3.Make conversations according to the pictures. A. What do you want to be when you grow up ? B. I want to be a/an…… 4. Work in pairs to make conversations about their dream jobs. Step Ⅴ Listening 1. Play the recording for the Ss to listen and fill in the blanks, 2.Make sure Ss know the meaning of the words and sentences in 1b. 3.Show the answers on the screen. Step Ⅵ Pair work 1.Show some lovely animals . Each animal links to a conversation like this: A: What do you want to be when you grow up? B:I want to be a/an…… A: How are you going to do that ? B: I’m going to …… 2.Students choose an animal and make the conversation with a partner. 3.Ask four pairs to act out their conversations in front of the class. Step Ⅶ Summary Summarize what they have learnt in this class . give some explanation if necessary. Step Ⅷ Sing a song Sing the song “Be what you wannabe” with the music.
