Unit 6 I’m going to study computer science.
Section A, Period One
Ⅰ. The aim of teaching
After having this class, students will be able to review some old words and learn some news words for jobs. Besides, students will be able to tell their own dream jobs by answering the four following questions: What do you want to be when you grow up? How are you going to do that? Where are you going to work? When are you going to start working? Last but not least, students will be able to know how to use “be going to” to express their dream jobs in a proper way.
Ⅱ. The importance
Important words:
cook, doctor, engineer, violinist, driver, pilot, pianist, guitarist, artist, scientist, actress, waitress, postman, college, medicine, university, London, article, send
Important phrases:
grow up, computer programmer
Important sentences:
What do you want to be when you grow up? How are you going to do that? Where are you going to work? When are you going to start working?

Step One: Lead-in
Before the class, the teacher played a song and led the students to sing along.
Aim: To make the students know more about the song, trying to sing after the tape.
At the beginning of the class,
T: Do you like the song?
Ss: Yes.
T: Who knows the name of the song?
S: Hey, Jude.
T: Good, can you sing the song?
Ss: …
T: Maybe it’s a little difficult for you. But there is a baby, he is only 2 years old. He can sing the song very well. Do you want to watch it?
Ss: Yes.
The teacher played the video about the baby. After watching,
T: Now, let’s talk about the baby and his father. What does his father do? Can you guess?
S1: He is a music teacher.
T: Great. Maybe he teaches music in a college.
S2: Maybe he is a singer.
T: I think so. He can sing songs very well. So maybe he is a musician.
Now, let’s talk about the baby. What do you think of the baby?
S3: He is clever.
T: Right. Can he sing songs very w
