Step1 Warm-up
Greeting the class and free talk.
T: What did you do on the last weekend? Did you watch TV?
Ss: Yes, I did.
T: How often do you watch TV?
Ss: Once a week/three times a week/never…
T:I watch TV everyday, because I like watching TV, and I like the stars.
Step 2 Presentation
1.Lead-in
Show some pictures about TV stars.
T: Look at the pictures. Do you like them?Can you tell me what does he or she look like?
Let ss describe the people using words : tall, short ,thin…
2. Teach the new words
Show two pictures on the screen. One person is tall the other is short. Then ask ss to find out the differences between them.
T: So we can see A is taller than B. B is shorter than A.
Show other two pictures.
T: Can you find the differences between them ?
Ss: One is thin, the other is heavy.
T: So we can say A is…than B?
Lead ss to say the words thinner and heavier.
The same way to teach new words: quietly, loudly
Teach the target language
Show a picture about Yao Ming.
T: Is that Zhou Xingchi?
Lead ss to answer the question.
Ss: No, it isn’t. It’s Yao Ming. He is taller than Zhou Xingchi.
