TheplanningfortheLOOUCcoincideswithurbangrowthmanagement,sotheplanningforLOOUCis focusedonthemanagementofurbanland-useinthefasturbanizationprocessinChina. Inthefirst,thispapersummarizesthetotalprogressontheplanningstudyfortheLOOUCinChina.The mainprogressareasfollows:1)theconceptsoftheLOOUCaresimilar;2)thetargetsandfunctionsof planningfortheLOOUCareconsistentinordertocontrolurbanland-useandpromoteurbanmanagement;3) themaincontentofplanningfortheLOOUCistoclassifythetypes,arrangthedistributingandspatial boundsofLOOUC,andthenmakpoliciesforimplementingandmanaging;4)themethodsandproceduresof planningforLOOUCaresimilartourbanplanning;5) theguaranteesofimplementingarediverse.
