Abstract: Theway to work out and use the power system shor-t circuit current curve is reviewed
briefly at firs.t Then the symmetrical component of shor-t circuit current of any instant is calculated
w ith function rules in the cases of three types of large-capacity turbine generators. The calculation
result is comparedw ith the standard shor-t circuit current curve, which leads to the conclusion that
the larger the generator capacity, the less valid the typical shor-t circuit current is. Finally, the way
to mi prove the traditional shor-t circuit current is proposed.
