Failure pipeline not only leads to halting production of offshore oilfield, but also interference with the oil supply. Therefore it is necessary to detect the pipeline at regular intervals to prevent accidents. So pipeline inspection robot is applied in this field. This paper has carried out detection sensor design of robot based on the principle of magnetic flux leakage detection. In view of the basic structure of the submarine detector, the document put forward design requirements of its sensor array. According to the installation space of the sensor array and diameter range of pipe, the whole mechanical structure is designed, and the whole installation process is planned. Analyzing measurements method about the length, width, depth of the defect and pipe cross-sectional area, and then conducting overall program and experiment to arrange the magnetic element, ultimately the scheme is that the length, width measurement of the defect is completed by paperback induction coil, the depth of defect is achieved by paperback Hall, and the cross-sectional area is measured by vertical Hall and magnetic armature.
