Abstract: T is paper introduces t e application of binocular ranging in t e traffic accident processing system. First we take o-
rientation gradient filtering met od t o preprocess t e image, for reducing t e noise and protect ing image details as well. t en w e
take a new met od of image feature matc to improve t e operation speed and reduce t e measurement error. at last, we de-
scribe t e principle of binocular ranging.
