摘 摘 要 在中国政府的艰苦努力下，我国即将加入世贸组织。入世， 是一把双刃剑，既会给我国带来良好的发展机遇，也会给我国经济 造成一些冲击。在这样的背景下，我国的各个行业，包括我国基础 工业的铜工业，都在认真研究、积极备战，作好迎接入世挑战的准 备。J本文在掌握了大量翔实的铜工业各方面数据的基础上，详细分 析了铜资源、铜矿山、铜冶炼、铜加工等各个行业的情况，并从行 _，、 业结构、产品结构等与国外铜行业进行了相应的比较，得出了六个 方面的结论：即铜的行业结构不合理：产品结构不合理；技术工艺 落后、产品质量低；生产成本高、经营效益差：进出口管理有待加 强；铜矿山的基础产业的地位不够明确等，同时全面分析了入世后 我国铜工业面临的发展机遇和即将到来的严峻挑战，并从铜工业、 铜企业的角度提出了应对WTO的策略，以及我国政府应给予铜工 业的政策支持。 关键词。WTO、 铜I业。 机遇 挑战 对策。 AbstractsWith Abstracts With the strenuous efforts made by the Chinese Government，China is to join the World Trade Organization(WTO)soon．To join WTO will bring a double— edged sword for Chine．On one hand，it will bring opportunities for the development of our country；on the other hand，it will also arouse some impacts on Chinese economy．In order to be well—prepared for the joining into WTO and the oncoming challenges．The respective cases and regulations of WTO have been studying in many field，including the copper industry,which is an important basic industry of China．In order to get ready to face challenges after the joining into WTO，based on a lot of date collected from various sources of the copper industry,this paper analyses cases concerning copper resources，copper mining，copper smelting and copper processing．It also makes a comparison between the copper industry in China and that of foreign countries in respect of the industry structure，the quality of products and so on．As a result of these studies，the author comes to the following conclusions：The industry structure is not reasonable，nor is the product structure． What’s more，the techniques concerned are backward and the quality of products is poor．The production cost is high while the operation efficiency is low．Besides，the management of imports and exports needs to be improved，etc． This paper gives an overall analysis of the opportunities and challenges that the copper industry is to meet after Chine joins WTO．To face the challenges after the joining into WTO，countermeasures ale suggested form the perspective of the co
