AbstractThe Abstract The report was focused on the exotic plant，Solidago canadenis L．First，gave a detail review on the biology,ecology,current harmful situation and management of＆ canadensis，and the chemical constituents and biological activity ofgenus Solidago．Then the chemical constituents of the essential oil and the ethanolie extract of S canadensis were conducted by GC．MS and different column chromatographies，which lead the isolation and determination of monoterpenes，sesquiterpenes and phenolic compounds from this plant．The allelopathy effects of the最canadens捃explored the chemical mechanism of the invasion of the plant，and the antifungal activities of the essential oil were also examined．The main results were as following： (1)The exotic plant,Solidago canadenis has distributed in more than 10 provinces and spreaded quickly in China．The plant has invaded into many ecological systems and made serious harm to the agricultural and forest production，and also a great threat to the ecological environment and biological diversity．The plant would be another‘‘ecology killerafter Eupatorium adenophorum Spemg and other serious exotic weeds． (2)The main constituents of the essential oil ofcanadens括were monoterpenes and sesquiterpenes，and the(+)-germacrene D(28．64％)，ct-pinene(15．08％)and limonene (11．801煳were the main abundant components in the oil．From the ethanolic extract ofX canadens西，1 l known phenolic compounds include 9 flavoniods and two caffeic acid derivatives were isolated and determined． (3)The extract of aerial and underground part,essential oil，phenolic constituents obtained from S．canadensis and aqueous extract of rhizosphere soil of s．canadensia displayed obvious allelopathy effects on the tested plants．The extract of aerial and underground part of S canadensis showed strong inhibition on the germination and growth of seedlings of tested plants，especially to the root growth and root activity． Further study proved that essential oil and phenolic compounds were
