Research Research on Modeling and Optimization Control of Reheating Furnace Abstract With the rapid development of science and technolgy,production conditions of industry processes are more complex with more requirements．Multivariable，nonlinear, strong coupled，distributed parameters，wide operation range，strict performance requirements are presented by most control systems．We confront with more challenges on modeling and control of these complex systems． Walking—beam reheating furnace is not only one of the important equipment of hot rolling process in iron and steel plant，but also one of main energy—consuming facilities． According to the slab type，facility status and production index，reheting furnace is controlled to make the slab to be heated adequately and uniformity by control of zone temperature，flow of fuel，ratio of air and fuel，pressure．The quality of heating slab is related to the quality and quantity of steel products，．energy consuming and life of rolling mill．Hence，the dissertation mainly discusses some issues on modeling and optimization control of reheating fumace．The main topics are： ●Dynamic mathematics model and simulation ofreheating furnace From the mechanism of the reheating furnace，equation of heat radiation，and balance equation of energy,the model of zone temperature，prediction model of slab temperature， and model of wall temperature are set up to get the temperature prototype of fumace and each slab．These models are used in the simulator of reheating furnace，which is based on MATLAB and 11qTOUCH． ●T-S fuzzy model of furnace temperature A modified T-S fuzzy model for multi-input and multi-output system is proposed．The IIl optimal optimal truncation九of fuzzy relation matrix is decided by O．618 partition algorithm．The number of fuzzy rules is determined by truncation九based on maximum tree．This algorithm is used to modeling the flffnace temperature and get good results．The fury modeliS used as the control model ofGPC． ●Soft sensor modeling of sla
