* * Asthma quality of life can be measured by either generic or disease-specific questionnaires. For GOAL, the well known, disease-specific Asthma Quality of Life Questionnaire (AQLQ) was used. This validated scientific tool contains 32 questions over four different sections – activity limitations, asthma symptoms, emotional functioning and exposure to environmental stimuli. The overall score is the mean score of the four domains and each is scored on a 7-point scale from 1 (severe impairment) to 7 (no impairment).
