Material and Methods: 41 biopsy samples were detected, including 31 tissues samples from patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma and 10 tissues samples from patients with chronic nasopharyngitis as control group. Hexokinase II mRNA expression was detected by RT-PCR, and hexokinase II protein express was detected by Western-blot. Results: ①it was observed that the expression levels of hexokinase II mRNA and protein in nasopharyngeal carcinoma tissues were higher than in the chronic inflammatory tissues. ②And the expression levels in patients with lymph node metastasis were higher than without lymph nod metastasis Conclusion: the expression level of hexokinase II in nasopharyngeal carcinoma is higher than in the control group (chronic inflammatory tissues). And hexokinase II may be a marker of nasopharyngeal carcinoma and lymph node metastasis in nasopharyngeal carcinoma.
