ABSTRACTMOtivation ABSTRACT MOtivation plays an important part in the process of English le锄ing. It is lcmown to us that optimalⅡ10tivation can lead to successfullearlling. Skehan(1989)considered nlotivation was the second most powerful factor which was only aRer aptitude in forecasting 1e锄ing ef琵ct. Gardner(1985)pointed out that it was one of the four main factors of individual di虢rences mat a骶ct le锄ing.Wu Yi’an(1993)found that motivation was one of seven factors that had innuence on English le锄ers in China.So rnotiVation is the key issue in foreign language le锄ing.This mesis focuses on a research on motiVating English le锄ers in votech coUeges This thesis fmls into four chapters:the first chapter discusses tlle theories related to motivation and the emightenInents on En91ish teaching.
