哈 哈尔滨工业大学哲学硕士学位论文 - -II- Abstract Since 1970s, many experiential research are successful in the construction of technology, while there are two problems about it: most of scholars tend to technological determinism, while they criticize social determinism.They pay attention to the western technology with the the economic rationalism development, but neglect the research on the non- western technology. Therefore, I took these two defects as a starting point for this study. In this paper, the Chinese native non-productive technology, Hui Zhou residence , was selected for analysis, and revealed the abundant connections between technology and life world, which would provide many new experiences and insights for the study on technological philosophy which is in empirical turn and the study on STS, and provide enlightenments for the Chinese native technology practice. It is found that the architecture and culture of Hui Zhou residence are mutually embedded through research and understanding on the historical materials by the life world-toward attitudes. It is the primary geomancy consideration with regard to the residential location, layout, structure and time arrangement, which even become the principle of “imaginary architecture”. The residence building by geomantic omen became a sign of good geomancy due to their successes of Hui Zhou merchants in the examination and business. The residence which is as property and method of decorarion reflects the merchants’psychology of winning glory for their ancestors and paying attention to culture and business.At the same time, etiquette and residential layout also regulated each other. The residential detailed decoration conveyed the special regional culture. On the one hand, those successes of Hui Zhou merchants provided material base for residential construction.
