 Unit1 Can you play the guitar?
第一课时
Teaching goals:
Ss master the basic activity words.
 Ss have a brief understanding of the usage of “can”
Ss know different clubs at their school.
 Train Ss’s interests in taking part in the activities and clubs.

 the study of verb (talk about abilities) 
  the new sentence pattern”Can you….?”and its answer.

 Let Ss join all kinds of clubs.

Teaching Procedures:
Step1: show the activities verb by PPT (pictures)
       (sing  swim  dance  draw  play chess  speak English…)

  Step2: 1. practice these verbs and introduce the new sentence pattern “Can you….?”
2. Watch and say 
practice “Can you….? Yes, I can / No, I can’t.” in pairs.
ask four pairs to present.
  Step3: check the words
Finish 1a in the book( Match the activities with the people )

  Step4: 1. lead in club
show many different clubs by PPT, let Ss know the names of these clubs
 2. lead the sentence by these pictures

       3. practice it with deskmate
ask 4 pairs to present.
 Step5: 1. Listen and number the conversation(1b in the book)
       2. pair work “ I want to join ….. Can you…..?”
 Step6: 1.a summary by PPT
Ask some students to conclude what they learnt in this class.
