Because it involves many water departments and conflict of interests, so the essence of ecological operation has been blcoked. This paper take Wenyu River Basin as an example to study the evolution of hydrological elements, pattern of development and variation characteristics of hydrological sequence and to basin indetify the water security situation. This paper apply hydrology methods and hydraulic method to the study of the process of ecological water demand in Wenyu River Basin, determine river ecological runoff process by appropriate integration, eatablish eco-friendly model of optimal operation of cascade reservoirs by the base flow conditions and suitable flow conditions based on the ecological importance and gain scheduling results according by multi-objective solving based on the ecological constraints.Specific research results and content are as follows. (1) Hydrology regularity diagnosis of Wenyu River: stuyd the hydrological characteristics and rule changesclosely related to the river ecosystem based on hydrological data of the Wenyu River reservoir dam behind the station.Analysis relationship and other features among long-term evolutionary trends, periodic variation, scale invariance, climatic factors .
