ABSTRACT
The rapid development of information technology greatly promotes the present teaching reform and transfer of teaching and learning ways. As a newly teaching mode for course reform being carried out, “collaborative learning” has been widely understood and accepted by teachers as well as students and developed into an important teaching mode in the classroom teaching and with the support of Internet. It is conducive to foster students’ creativity, independent thinking, critical thinking, exploration spirit and coordinative skills, thus it plays an important role in cultivate talents demanded in the new century.
On the other hand, as a member of Web 2.0, Wiki helps realize the dream of people’s pursuit of co-creation on the Internet. At present, the apply of Wiki in education is on its preliminary stages home and abroad. With the trait of openness, cooperation, equality, co-creation, sharing, it suits the development of collaborative learning. With the help of Wiki, students become the real master of learning by common effort and communications. Students’ overall qualities can be improved under Wiki, so students’ creativity and innovation spirit must be fully mobilized. Collaborative learning in communication comes into being in such a situation.
The starting point for the study is based on the research topic “Web Teaching Resource Construction for Computer Basic Course”. In light of the investigation and study of the various teaching methodologies adopted in the computer basic course, it is found that many features of Wiki are suitable for cooperation between teacher and students. Hence, Wiki is introduced to the cooperative study and further study is carried out.
Based on the basic theories of collaborative learning and the Wikis history, features, technical specifications, this research analyzes the feasibility of applying Wiki platform to collaborative learning, explores theoretically and practically the possible approaches to effective collaborative
