Abstract
A Study on Overseas Students’Bias about Chinese Character Writing and the Typesetting of Chinese in Chinese Textbooks for Foreign Students
Abstract:Chinese characters teaching is not only a significant part in TCSL(teaching Chinese as a second language),but also a difficulty that is very tough to break through.There are quite a few comprehensive researches methods of Chinese teaching.However,studies that are specifically aimed at Chinese character writing has not carried further.Furthermore,overseas students’bias about Chinese character writing is typical of generality and long term,so it is very essential to analyze and
explore this kind of bias,combined with relevant Chinese textbooks.The analysis
towards the wrongly written in compsitions written by foreigners in HSK dynamic composition corpus(1 992——2005,4240000 characters all together).which gets the following two findings(1)The characters“肺、随、达、解、还、这、进、过、绿、 道”have relatively high error rate;(2)In the chosen samples of writing errors.four types of errors Can be concluded,which are stroke error,constituent error,structure error and other types of errors.In addition to specific analysis of sorts of errors in each type and the reasons,this thesis also observes and analyzes the type setting of high
error-rate characters in representative textbooks from error frequency,the strokes of the high error-rate character constituent“走之旁”and the representation mode of its order of strokes.And the following suggestions for the type seRings of Chinese characters in TCSL textbooks are concluded as follow:(1)In the process of textbook compilation,and high error-rate characters should be specially planned in TCSL textbooks and the occurrence frequency of some character should be increased;(2)The recognizing and writing of the right constituent of“肺”,the right constituent of“随”, “走之旁,the left constituent of“解”should be specifically focused on.
