A setof scientific and comprehensive index system ofurban green space included basic quantitative feature, land- scape pattern, socialmanagement and ecological function, all together 4 secondary indices and 16 concrete ind-i ces. M oreover, Beijing urban green spacewas evaluated by this index system and the synthesis index was 0. 67, which belonged to class Ò, indicating that the total area of the urban green spacewas proper and the ecological function was effective. Meanwhile, weak landscape connection, poor accessibility and lower satisfaction degree were themain problem s and restricted ecological and socialbenefits of urban green space.
