AbstractThe Abstract The nature and image from country site give the contemporary literature boundless poetry．Local essays as a part of folk Hterature become main trend．I chose the local essays from the early Chinese 20“century period 1920·1939 as content to study the local essays in different ways，to discuss what the authors’complicated feelings were，try to find out what is the key aesthetic value in local essays during that particular period． This thesis is divided into five parts．The introduction is to tell the limitation and transformation of the concept of local essays．At the same time，to review the history changing and development of the contemporary local essays．The chapter one pays attention to the pain of returning hometown from the group of writers，to find out the enlightened consciousness and rational thinking which are shown the pity and sadness from the hardship within the essays．Also tells gloomy countryside landscape and indignation and pity form the aesthetically characters．The chapter two is to display the sentiment of different race and classical aesthetic image of local customs pictures which show Utopia ideas and romantic image surmounting countryside reality．The chapter three shows the pictures of original and novel countryside people，sets off the soul of country site by the humorous characters． The chapter four describes modern countryside writers gave the folk-custom culture the additional value by using their rationality and the aesthetic taste．The visual angle of missing childhood compared with adult’S psychology and the taste of countryside life formed contrast with the modern urban life．These essays have higher aesthetic value．The end of thesis goes through the aesthetic of the local essays，builds up in theory and comes to a conclusion of the reasons of aesthetic value in loeal essays． Key words：local essay,hardship，image，folk—custom，aesthetic taste 中文摘要乡土不论在具象和意象上都给现代文学提供了无限的诗意。“乡土文学”被文学 中文摘要 乡土不论在具象和意象上都给现代文学提供了无限的诗意。“乡土文学”被文学 史家严家炎称作“中
