With the development of science and technology, the world has become smaller and smaller, and communication between countries is becoming more and more frequent. Important as the study of speech acts is, the comparative study between different speech acts from different cultural backgrounds can be regarded as one of the most effective ways in the research on cross-cultural speech acts. Therefore, the use of inter-cultural pragmatics helps improve mutual understanding between people from different cultures, and reduce misunderstanding. Significance of Study on Inter-Cultural Pragmatic Inappropriateness The rapid development of globalization enables international communication to be more frequent. English, a language of inter-cultural communication, is now more widely used in the fields like diplomacy, trade, tourism, science and technology, and cultural exchange across countries as well. It is evident that the competence to use proper English language and to represent appropriate speech act will take an important role in the inter-cultural communication.
