How many people are there in China? Do you know any Chinese brands? In the past five decades, China has been experiencing dramatic population changes. Pre-1949: High birth rate, high death rate, low natural growth rate; 1950-1969: High birth rate, low death rate, high natural growth rate; 1970-1990: Low birth rate, low death rate, low natural growth rate. 1991 – today A post-transitional society, where life expectancy has reached new heights, fertility has declined to below-replacement level, and rapid population aging is on the horizon. This has had a profound impact upon its population structure.
